Our
Association
American Salers Association (ASA) represents hundreds of Salers breeders
across the
United States
and
Canada.
It conducts ongoing registry and genetic evaluation services for its
breeders, and plays a critical role in the marketing and promotional efforts
of the breed throughout
North America.
Formed in 1974, ASA helped pioneer genetic evaluation
and research, and was among the first to gather and accumulate carcass and
eating-quality data from beef cattle.
In the early 1990's, ASA played a major role in
developing strategic alliances between ranchers, feeders and packers, and
continues in its commitment to delivering safe, wholesome and high-quality
products to consumers.
Based in Parker, CO, ASA's primary purpose is to
create economic opportunities for its members through genetic evaluation and
maintenance of its registry, and to add value not only to Salers breeding
stock, but also to commercial feeder calves and fed cattle.
